Artist: Todd Hyung Rae Tarselli

Thanks to Ben Wang for mentioning Hyung Rae's name. I really don't know too much about Hyung Rae, other than that he serving time in SCI Greene maximum security prison. If anyone could send me some additional information on Todd Hyung Rae Tarselli, that would be great. He is a witty, amazingingly detailed and politically on-point illustrative artist. Some of his work can be found here at AAZINE. Also at American Friends Services Commitee. And in addition at Guerilla Underground, where you can also get his zine.

This makes me ill. Todd Tarselli is a heartless, selfish, ignorant individual and the fact that anyone shows interest in anything he writes or illistrates only proves the decline of today's society. He should not have the privilege of walking God's green earth and yet he recieves praise for doodling a man behind bars. You need to inquire about his dispicable crime and ponder the hundreds if not thousands of lives it affected.

I completely agree with Disgusted....Todd Tarselli should never be allowed to express himself in any capacity. What he did to become a prisoner was despicable! How dare you praise such a person! I hope he never gets out of there. I certainly would never feel safe with him out on the streets. I cannot believe he is allowed to publish anything outside of those cell walls...makes me sad to know he has rights when the young man that he stole life from will never be heard from.

It has been 20 years to the day that Todd took Mark"s life. Over $922.00. It still makes me sick everytime I think about it. I can not believe that our Prison system allows him to publish anything out side of jail. Disgusting is not the word for it.

Today is 20 years since Todd killed Mark in cold blood. A person. He claimed was his best friend. Todd is where he belongs. He tried to escape 14 years ago and was almost successful. Please think of the family and friends still mourning Mark's horrible passing. Dear God, his Mom found him, shot 8 times, with a phone cord around his neck! I repeat, Todd is where he belongs.

It makes me wanna throw up seeing this, I worked and went to school with Mark he was the kindest person you'd ever meet. This animal took him from us, and to let everyone know just how sick he is, when the school had grief counselors in to help us through this he sat right next to me just listening to everyone grieve!!!! He is a sick and twisted human being who deserves absolutely no recognition.

I agree with most of the people here in that I believe he should not be allowed to express himself in any manner outside of his prison nor gain recognition for any writing or activity he does while incarcerated.

I say this, as I was Todd's classmate and sat next to him. The morning Mark was found murdered, Todd was in school that morning (hard to believe, right?) While most students were shocked and many people knew Mark also, we were discussing how it must have been a group of people that held him and tied Mark up, that one person would not be able to do this. With that being said, Todd, in a soft voice, said simply "I could". The few people who were sitting around talking with him at the time just paused for a moment and looked at him oddly, but we knew Todd was a friend of Mark, so we thought it was especially difficult for him.

Todd even showed up to school the morning after the murder when we had counselors come in to help the students who were unable to cope with the shocking tragedy. And that weapon he used at KFC? He made that in our class a few weeks earlier. Whenever people asked him what he was making, he would put it away and get another project he was also working on for class.

The police had no leads but stories say his arrest was the result of intense investigations. Does no one recall the morning Todd turned himself in??? That morning, every news station in NEPA reported that he turned himself in approx 5am wearing the same clothing he wore during the crime with blood on his shirt and shoes which matched the blood found at the crime scene.

I don't believe anyone should be able to commit a crime and take a life without having to give theirs in return. The police and the military risk their life daily to protect others. Losing your life to a coward because they wanted a few hundred dollars doesn't justify the money taxpayers spend to keep criminals in jails.

Todd was an intelligent kid in school. To give a defense that a brain is not developed until the age of 24 yrs old is garbage. He displayed organization and implementation skills when he committed murder and escape, leaving the police with no suspects or clues. Now they want a retrial because he was born in South Korea and age is calculated differently there and claims to now have been underage at the time of the crime.

I know teenagers who are mature for their age and 45 year olds who act like children with no maturity. Todd was mature and knew what he was doing. He committed a heinous crime and left no evidence which would have led police to any suspects. Sounds pretty educated to me. Say you are crazy, immature, mentally ill, whatever... But at least he can speak. Mark will never say anything again.

If Todd wants to make drawings, why not write about how he killed and now understands that what he did was wrong and how he wants to help people who may have personal problems which went out of control because he never expressed himself to others and how those problems put him in the wrong state of mind??? Instead, he draws about how prison life is negatively affecting his frame of mind and making prisoners go crazy. Uhmmm, no...You went crazy, and were placed in prison to protect the public from any other crimes you may commit.
